Position:                       Production Manager

Location:                      Auckland

 

Responsible for managing the timely production / production planning and technical details of the company’s collections, to approved company quality standards and ensuring that production deadlines are met.

  • Liaising closely with CMT’s, both overseas and local, to ensure sufficient production capacity is available to meet the company’s requirements and that company quality standards are maintained at all times.
  • Responsible for overseeing work done by CMT’s and other contractors, sourcing, new CMT’s as required. Quality assurance is carried out on all stages of production.
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships, locally and offshore. Using Skype to conduct seasonal meetings with each key supplier.
  • Establish and implement plans to improve company best practice for product quality standards.
  • Oversee all technical aspects of designs from conception to delivery.
  • Build spec sheets (Excel), technical drawing (Illustrator), graded specs, samples and sundry sheets.
  • Responsible for the fit, fabrication and construction of completed production.
  • Manage and order core fabric that ensures that deliveries are received on time.
  • Responsible for setting up and ensuring accurate records are maintained for all aspects of garment production (fabric, style, and costings).
  • Responsible for preparing costings for all ranges negotiating with Suppliers to obtain best results / profit margin.
  • Work with the sales and warehouse team to ensure on time delivery.
  • Work closely with the offshore sales team to ensure they can respond to our customers’ needs.

Skills Required

  • Illustrator and Adobe suite.
  • Full garment construction.
  • Ability to sew (sewing not required but the ability to do so would be advantageous to the position).
  • Ability to create garment specs.
  • Costings.
  • Critical path management.
  • Ability to communicate concisely and accurately through written word and verbal communication.
  • Ability to problem solve in a manner that considers the customers, internal stakeholder and the priorities and timelines that need to follow.
  • Advanced excel skills.
  • High level of numerical skills. Costings, margins and cost management.
  • Can do attitude to look for solutions and get the job done quickly.
